Welcome to Keystage 1
The end of the Early Years marks the end of the first phase of learning from birth to five years of age. Your child's next stepping stone, Keystage 1, is the start of a two year phase of learning.
As a school we will do everything possible to provide the most positive transition from Early Years to Keystage 1.
In order to prepare your child for the transition the most important thing you can do at this time is to talk to them. Talk positively about their journey forward to Keystage 1, learning with new friends and teachers. Together, watch the welcome message below from your child's new class teacher. Please also take the time to look through the document at the bottom of the page which explains what typical day in Keystage 1 looks like, the curriculum on offer and the topics for the upcoming school year.
Your child's new class teacher will make contact with you, by way of a telephone call, and will be able to help answer any questions that you may have about your child's next step in their learning journey!
